The layout has to flow in a manner that encourages family gatherings, allows for prepping and cooking spaces within easy reach of utensils, fixtures, and appliances, and in a manner that makes maintenance effortless. Just as chefs must prepare and organize their mise en place, the design of a kitchen must allow for a place for everything and everything in its place.
In the idyllic Cranberry Meadow Farm’s kitchen, the owners—one of whom is a chef by profession—made sure to take every element into consideration. Multiple islands, each with dedicated storage, two of our Glass Door Refrigeration units, a range with six burners along with an island within easy reach of the sink, the addition of a baking station, and an abundance of natural light and pristine workspaces account for a seamless workflow.
Meanwhile, in this ultra-chic moody kitchen by Vanessa Deleon, the designer proves function need not be abandoned in favor of form. Deleon ensured ample storage space with a variety of different drawers, cabinets, and some of our undercounter units in addition to our 42” matte black and copper refrigerator. While the kitchen showcases a completely different color palette than the previous example, both are organized to promote efficiency—an absolute must when it comes to designing a functional kitchen. Just as an organized home is said to promote productivity, establishing a spotless, unencumbered kitchen environment can stimulate your creativity.
